All AVT cameras are made in Germany and have a two year warranty.  AVT is proud of the quality of materials, workmanship, and quality-assurance testing in our products, and we have many tens of thousands of cameras deployed at customer sites around the world.

If you experience a problem, please follow these steps:

1. Review the Frequent New-Camera Questions below* to confirm configuration settings. 
2. Likewise check the technical manual and/or this knowledge base and/or check with support staff
3. Download RMA request form, and complete electronically (or request PDF form or fax form)
4. Submit completed form through channel where you purchased camera.

(*) Frequent New-Camera Questions:

• Lens aperture open?  Dust cap off?  (no offense, but it happens...)
• Appropriate video mode? For full resolution and speed, F7M0
• Timebase and Shutter values support target frame rate? 
• (If using laptop) 1394 Firewire bus powered with 12V adapter?
• Driver installed for 1394 adapter card matches intended software?
• Using high-quality 1394 adapter card as recommended by AVT?
• (Pike/Stingray) locking cables on camera and on adapter card?
• Cabling 1394 and I/O interface; Please do not hot-plug - safer to cable unpowered 
• Does problem persist with an alternate 1394 cable or adapter card?  (if available) 
• (Color Guppy) deBayering (color interp.) enable in software?
• (Guppy won't trigger?) Did you connect both the Input AND Ground pins properly?
• (If using Microsoft driver and not reaching desired performance) Are you aware of the Windows XP SP2 S800 workaround issue?  (...which is why we recommend the AVT FirePackage, utilizing full S800 capabilities out-of-the-box)
• Notes on capturing video/avi vs. still images (tif, gif, bmp, jpg)
